Margaret: "We're back, ladies and gentlemen. Thank you for tuning in to this up close and personal interview with Ichiro Calder from the Japanese Assassination Team. Well, with his permission, we'll get right back to the back half of the 21 questions."
11. Have you ever hated someone enough to wish something terrible happened to them?
Ichiro: "Well, hasn't everyone?"
*Margaret purses her lips, trying to keep silent*
Ichiro: "Come on. It's human nature. Even the nicest of people have had flashes of wishing irreparable harm on others for whatever reason. It happens. Just...it's only legal if myself or others do it. But with good reason. Oh. Right. The question. Yeah. The whole regiment I served with. I wanted them buried neck deep in sand and have a thresher run them over. They why of it? Beating the piss out of a kid. A kid that looked to them for understanding, protection and care. And what was given to me was severe mistrust. Guess that was the gift that keeps on giving.
12. What is the worst thing you have ever done?
Ichiro: "Worst thing? I...I don't think I can say. There are a lot of things that have been done by way of the Corporation that are back deals, so to speak. And it'll be in my best interest and yours if you never know. Agreed?
*Margaret nods slowly and continues*
13. What is your biggest regret?
Ichiro: "One of the regrets is not being able to convince the higher ups that I was meant to lead the UK Assassination Team. I don't know what the brass was thinking for them to give it to my little brother. He's smart. I won't take that away from him, but I don't think he has the experience..." *lapses into silence*
"Next question, please?"
14. When were you the happiest?
Ichiro: "Family outings. We weren't able to do that much because of Mom and Dad's standing on base. But when we were able to get the time away? We would go to Blackpool for a long holiday. Just...all of us together and no one having to run off for last minute stuff. Playing on the beach, late breakfasts...doing things that I imagined normal families doing. It felt great playing at being normal."
15. If you found a genie, what three things would you wish for?
Ichiro: "A genie, huh. If only, right? Wish #1: I would wish that I would be one of the most powerful people in existence. Wish #2: for people to realize my greatness no matter what. Wish #3: wishing that the prior two wishes actually brings me happiness. Ah. That...that sounded a little too close to something I'd talk with my therapist about. Whoops." *jovial laughter*
16. Why are you attracted to the person you are currently pursuing?
Ichiro: "Romance? In this line of work?" *laughs derisively* I wouldn't know if anyone was flirting with me if they were using semaphore flags to get my attention! Granted, that isn't something one should be proud of, but when so much of this work is literally your life?
Maybe one day, but I don't see it for me."
17. What do you indulge in when you feel stressed?
Ichiro: "Gaming. I hit up some of the local arcades and just enjoy playing some of those UFO catcher games. It's almost a zen type thing that makes me slow down a bit and concentrate on the now." *snorts in derision*
"Ugh. It sounds so weird to say out loud."
18. What kind of contest could you always win?
Ichiro: "Well, one of my favorite things to do growing up was knife work. I was always good at throwing knives. It was one of the proclivities I had growing up on base that WASN'T discouraged. So if for some reason, a knife throwing contest was necessary to decide the fate of the free world? Send me in."
19. What are you afraid of?
Ichiro: "It's going to sound contrived...but dying. I'm scared of death without resolution. To me, there's nothing scarier than dying without finishing what you've started. It could be something as simple as living out part of a dream...but if your life gets cut short?" *snaps fingers*
"That's all. Whatever you've done is your legacy and it has to stand on its own. You won't be around to explain the intricacies, the setbacks, etc. It just is. And...it scares me that I might not be able to finish things...or fix things."
20. What do you want?
Ichiro: "Too damn much."
21. What do you need?
Ichiro: "Evidently not enough."
